The Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society and it's members are dedicated to the preservation, restoration and operation of vintage railway equipment for the education and enjoyment of the public. To present our cultural heritage in a new and more meaningful light to generations past, present and future.
The Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to the preservation, restoration and operation of vintage railway equipment for public education. This membership based not-for-profit is operated entirely by volunteers who also operate the Waterloo Central Railway. While railway ticket sales cover most of the railway operating expenses, the Society relies on grants and donations for the acquisition and restoration of equipment. Tax receipts are available for all contributions over $20.00.

First operating day on the Waterloo Central Railway in 2012 is the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival.
